The design of the new residential facilities on the East Campus commenced with the preparation of an East Campus Master Development Plan, which recommended residential sites that could provide for a total of up to 1,040 new beds. ARC was engaged to design two new student residence halls sited to form a residential quadrangle with two existing dormitories. An arched passageway through the center of the building connects back to the pedestrian paths that lead to the campus’ central mall. Each 180-bed dormitory is subdivided into two houses of 80 and 100 students with its own RA suites, common rooms, laundry and storage facilities.
