Master Plan
St. Mark's School, Southborough, MA
Completed: 2007 / Size: n/a
ARC has completed multiple master plans for St. Mark’s beginning in 1996 which plan identified areas of the school’s existing master plan that were no longer valid as a result of new construction or a change in school policies as well as validated the remainder of the plan in order to identify changes in the school’s philosophy and goals that would impact facilities needs for the future. In 2007 ARC was retained to master plan renovations of the school’s historic main building in which most of campus life takes place. The study focused on possible design innovations and the incorporation of green design supporting the St. Mark’s ambitious environmental initiative. The proposed renovations include upgrading the school’s major academic and student study spaces as well as the chapel, dining and kitchen areas, the library, dorms, and administrative offices which will be completed over the course of ten years in nine different phases.
