ARC designed phased renovations to four of the Business School dormitories along the Charles River. Three of these structures, which house Executive Program participants as well as MBA students, were originally designed by McKim, Mead and White in the 1920’s.

While the interior renovations were comprehensive, the exterior facade of each of the historic buildings remain visually unchanged and were restored as necessary in keeping with the original architectural design. Baker Hall, the fourth in the series of dormitory projects, began as an interior renovation project. However, preliminary investigations revealed pervasive wall flashing failure which required the complete reconstruction of the dorm’s exterior envelope. A roof silhouette of standing seam lead-coated copper was created above the fifth floor to lower the perceived roof line of this six-story building.
