Pollard Library's role as a vital element of Lowell's Historic District has been assured for another 100 years in this complete renovation of F.W. Stickney's 1893 masterpiece. Formerly used for community meetings, Memorial Hall has been transformed into the library's central reading room. Hidden for decades, the room's original, magnificent stained glass windows and murals can now be enjoyed by all of the library's patrons.

"What strikes me is the sense of architectural beauty and historic integrity that is blended so seamlessly with the accoutrements of a library equipped to serve well into the 21st century…People are delighted with the renovation, and literally stop in their tracks to absorb the awe-inspiring results."
Mary Johnson-Lally, Retired Library Director
