Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, MA /  Lenfest Hall

Completed:

1992

Size:

24,000 SF

While contemporary in its use of stone and limestone, Lenfest Hall is very much at home on a campus recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. Offering views of its Gothic Chapel neighbor across the main quadrangle, the library features intimate study spaces within an open and inviting environment.

"The new facility reflects the historic nature of the existing campus while incorporating contemporary forms and materials...The location on the campus and the classical relationship with the Chapel indicate the significance of the library. The building elements and material… further exemplify this as an exceptional work."
