To address continued growth in research, DFCI has leased approximately 155,000 square feet of wet lab space in Longwood Center within a new research building that now serves as DFCI’s new home for basic research. Through the use of novel approaches to laboratory design and program clustering, the new facility facilitates collaboration, encourages new research directions and enhances the performance of high-impact research, and further strengthens a developing presence along Brookline Avenue. It also provides Dana-Farber with an unprecedented opportunity to reorganize its entire campus in a way that accelerates the application of basic discovery and translational science to treatments that advance the basic and clinical science of cancer in order to improve the lives of individuals, families and the community.
