Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, NH / New Field House & Parking Structure
Est. Completion: October 2017
As part of the master planning process for the Love Gym Athletic Complex at Phillips Exeter Academy, ARC developed a plan to connect a new 70,000 sf Field House to the existing athletic facilities. The project will also incorporate a 70,000 SF parking level underneath the field house and a 13,000 SF wrestling mezzanine level above for a total building area of 153,000 SF. Construction will start in the summer of 2016 and the facility will open in the fall of 2017 as part of an overall revitalization of the south half of the campus. The Field House will contain a 200 meter track for competitive meets and team practices. The track infield will accommodate four indoor tennis courts, as well as space for shot-put, discus, and high jump venues. Additional program spaces include areas for batting cages, pole vault, long jump, and triple jump competitions - as well as spectator seating for 500 and connections to locker rooms and support spaces for students and visiting teams. Below the field house will be an enclosed parking level to accommodate up to170 parking spaces for multiple campus events. The project will be built along with other major components of the South Campus Master Plan – developed with ARC and PEA to also include a completely new landscape and circulation pattern for the revitalized southern half of the PEA Campus.
