If a project can have a one-word descriptor, for the Albert Sherman Center that descriptor would be “collaboration” on two different fronts. First, the 512,000 SF building was designed to foster interaction and collaboration among scientists and promote innovation and synergies across disciplines on the UMass Medical School campus in Worcester. The kind of collaboration that finds cures and saves lives. But there was another kind of collaboration quietly taking place over the past four years, as well. At the dedication ceremony for the building, Chancellor Michael Collins, M.D. made a point of saying this new state-of-the-art research and education facility was made possible thanks to an unwavering commitment to collaboration and cooperation by all members of the A/E/C team, and how, through their efforts, the School will be able to realize its aspirations. We talked to the key players about the Albert Sherman Center project, and why it was so successful. Please watch this video to learn more.
