ARC Holiday Gift Exchange 2012

Last Friday afternoon, the sounds of crinkling paper and laughter filled the air as we celebrated ARC’s annual holiday gift exchange. Like most Secret Santa style gift exchanges, ARC employees draw names from a hat….but, here at ARC we put a fun twist on it.
Each participant buys a gift or toy that their designated person would have liked to receive when he or she was 7 to 12 years old. Gifts included a Pay Day game for the CFO, a keyboard for the weekend musician or a pair of baby dolls for the dad whose wife just had twins. Our gift exchange gives us a chance to see how well we know each other and also have a little fun, but best of all – it’s for a good cause.
After the gifts are opened, we donate them all to charity. For the last 10 years, ARC has contributed an average of 35 gifts each year to various local charities including Cambridge’s East End House and Rosie’s Place. This year, we happily dropped off a carload of toys to Toys for Tots.
ARC’s gift exchange is a great way to bring holiday cheer to the office while giving to a worthy cause. I can’t wait to see what I get next year!
